A young Northern Kentucky boy with cerebral palsy, Lane Hartzel, is having his dream job come true thanks to Hershey's. Last year, Lane’s school, Westside Elementary in Cynthiana, hosted a career day and suggested several jobs for Lane, who is non-verbal and non-mobile. Among the proposed jobs were light and sound operator for Taylor Swift, accessible playground critic, movie reviewer, and Hershey's chocolate critic.
Lane chose the tastiest option, becoming a Hershey's chocolate critic, and school faculty, along with his therapist, created a full costume and name badge for him. Principal Jon Hoskins shared Lane's story with Hershey's, and then the company decided to make Lane an official chocolate taste tester.
In addition to this sweet opportunity, Hershey’s is having Lane star in a national company advertisement that promotes his story. The ad is set to be released on April 17th, giving the second grader from Falmouth, Kentucky, a chance to fulfill his delicious dream.
