Kelly Clarkson is having to fend off reports that the work environment on her hit talk show, “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” is toxic. Numerous staff members recently dropped the bombshell that the work atmosphere includes bullying, abuse by upper-level members, retaliation, an absent HR department, and low-grade pay.
The staff members were quick to point out they do not credit Clarkson as the source of the problem, but rather executive producer Alex Duda and other high-ranking productions staff. The staff alleges that Duda and some of his colleagues are hostile towards employees on a regular basis and have retaliated when official complaints have been logged. They also accuse HR of doing nothing once reports about the producers' behavior were filed. Some of the former staffers do say that Kelly was kept in the dark about the problems.
And while the staffers admitted they “would be shocked if (Clarkson) knew” about the behind-the-scenes behavior, the star has felt the need to speak out. Over the weekend, Clarkson released a statement on Instagram saying the alleged conditions were “unacceptable” and that she is “more committed than ever” to improving the atmosphere on her show.
