Seven people including the manager of the morgue at Harvard Medical School have been arrested and charged with stealing and selling human remains from mortuaries at the school and the University of Arkansas.
Many of the bodies stolen were donated for scientific research but wound up allegedly making tens of thousands of dollars for the thieves.
Prosecutors claim that one of the defendants let buyers go into the morgue to pick out the body parts they wanted, which were then stolen by the manager and shipped through the mail.
