Neighbors Raise $37K For Bullied Boy In Need Of Friends

When 11-year-old Shayden Walker knocked on his neighbor’s door looking for friends his age, he couldn’t have known that millions of people would sympathize with the tween’s situation. The neighbor, Brennan Ray, posted a video from his doorbell camera of the moment to his TikTok and now it’s been viewed over 60 million times.

The video shows Shayden, sporting a "Jaws" T-shirt, asking if Ray knows of any kids his age because he "needs some friends really bad." When Ray suggests a few kids down the street, Shayden says, "Well, they’re not my friends anymore because they’re bullies." And when Ray says he has a two-year-old, Shayden lights up saying that he loves little kids and that he "used to have" a two-year-old sister.

Ray and his wife, Angel, were so touched by Shayden’s wholesome honesty, that they decided to start a GoFundMe campaign for him, hoping to help him make some new friends. The plan was to use the funds for a gaming system, school clothes, and possibly some amusement park tickets. In no time at all, the crowdfund blew past the $7-thousand goal, raising over $37-thousand. Commenters to the crowdfund page expressed support for Shayden, with hundreds of supporters saying they hope he finds all the friends he deserves.
