Warner Bros. has shared the Ryan Gosling power ballad “Just Ken” ahead of “Barbie” coming out later this month. It looks like Ken is trying to figure out who he is when he’s not a part of “Barbie and Ken.”
Gosling shows off his muscles, dances with Simu Liu, and pines after Barbie of course. If it could be summed up in one line, its “I’m just Ken, and I’m enough!”
Did we mention that Slash plays guitar on the song? Producer Mark Ronson simply asked and the Guns N' Roses guitarist said yes! As for Ryan nailing the song, Mark says "We hadn't met before, we just went into the studio and talked about music. As he started to get warmed up, I was like, 'Oh my god, this guy is gonna murder this song.' And of course he would. He's Ken. Who would understand this song better than him."
Fans will get to see if Ken’s daily affirmations will bring him self-worth when “Barbie” hits theaters on July 21st.
