When 13-year-old Elsa Wiemerslage and her family from Waterloo, Illinois, were scammed out of almost $1-thousand trying to buy Taylor Swift concert tickets, it was just another in a long line of disappointments. For eight years, Elsa has been battling leukemia and recently experienced kidney failure as a side effect of her treatment. The young fan had discovered a deep connection to Swift's music during her third kidney transplant and seeing her favorite artist in concert was a well-deserved reward.

After just receiving a life-saving kidney transplant last week, Frank Mackey of Kansas City, Missouri, knew all too well what Elsa was going through. When he learned that the teen wasn’t going to be able to go to the Swift concert, he bought tickets for one of “The Eras Tour” shows in Kansas City and gave them to Elsa.

Just days before the concert, Elsa learned of Mackey’s generous gift and then she got to meet her new friend before the show. "He's super sweet, super awesome," Elsa says of Mackey. "I couldn't sleep 'cause I was so excited. I was so excited all day, I just wanted to be at the concert."
