A Miami six-year-old is being praised for defending herself when threatened by a would-be kidnapper. Last Thursday evening, a little girl named Ah'lyric was playing with her siblings in the courtyard of their apartment complex when a man came up to her and grabbed her by her arm.
Ah'lyric started fighting back against the would-be abductor, so he picked her up and started to carry her away. That’s when the quick-thinking girl bit him on the arm, causing him to drop her. Ah'lyric then ran away and told her aunt what happened.
Police responded to the incident, and using surveillance video from the apartment, were able to identify the suspect. Then Ah'lyric positively identified him from the video. A license plate reader helped the police track the suspect and arrest him two days later and he’s now facing kidnapping and child abuse charges. Police are praising Ah'lyric for her bravery in the scary situation and using the moment to remind parents to keep a close eye on their children.
