Joe Manganiello and Sofia Vergara have split after seven years, but in a twist one of the reasons for divorce may have been Joe being sober! A source for “The Daily Mail” says that he was actually warned about getting into a relationship with someone who wasn’t actively sober like he’s been for 21 years and counting.
“Of course, the fact that Sofia is not sober had an impact on their marriage…He did not think that he was going to change her but he also didn’t think about the implications this could have on their marriage,” the source shared.
Despite Sofia reportedly being supportive of his sobriety, sobriety experts say that relationships between a sober person and someone who drinks can face challenges. Addiction expert Katrina Patersen shared that it was like Sofia “was dangling a carrot in front of him,” even if she didn’t mean to, making their marriage “a very slippery slope.”
