In March, armed robbers stole over $1-million in merchandise from a family-owned jewelry store in San Ramon, California, but a Rolex with a GPS chip among the stolen items allowed police to track the thieves.
Data from the watch's tracker gave law enforcement critical leads, resulting in the recent arrest of five suspects.
While some accomplices are still at large, including one believed to be in law enforcement, the investigation continues with help from Federal authorities.
