Norfolk Southern says it has reached a massive settlement following the February 2023 train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio.
The $600 million settlement would resolve all class-action claims within a 20-mile radius of the derailment and would take care of personal injury claims by residents who live within a ten-mile radius of the site.
Norfolk Southern says the settlement is not an admission of wrongdoing or liability.
The settlement will now need to be approved by a court.
