Here's today's feel-good story:
Billie Jo and Bobbie Jo Sullivan have a bond that cannot be broken as identical twins.
At 7 years old, Billie was diagnosed with leukemia and Bobbie donated bone marrow for her transplant.
“They asked me if I wanted to be a donor and I was like, ‘Yes, absolutely,’” she said. “When it came down to it, they were like, ‘Well, if they're twins, if they're identical, this could be 100 percent,’ and lo and behold, it was.”
25 years later, Billie was diagnosed with Breast cancer.
“In my head, I'm like, ‘Why? Why is this always happening to her? Why can't I take some of this?’” Bobbie said.
Due to the treatment, Billie became infertile. Once again, her sister rose to the challenge and donated her eggs to Billie.
“It was just a whole thing of thanking Bobbie for being able to do this to make this all possible,” Billie said. “I have a family now and it was just like the best thing ever.”
