Police Rescue Abducted 11-Year-Old Girl

An 11-year-old Massachusetts girl who was reportedly abducted after getting off the school bus has been rescued by quick-thinking police.

Massachusetts State Police say Charlotte Moccia was forced into a dark blue Honda and her neighbor, Maggie Kenney, witnessed the ordeal and says she heard the little girl yelling, “Stop, put me down” to the alleged kidnapper.

Authorities issued an Amber Alert and state police started getting calls that evening from drivers who saw the car on the Massachusetts Turnpike.

Officers used a road construction side to funnel traffic into one lane and stopped the vehicle. They found Charlotte inside and say she was unharmed. They found a knife in the car and have the suspect in custody.

"She's an amazing little girl," said State Police Lieutenant Bob Ackerman. "I can't believe how strong she was dealing with this."
