Parents of a six-year-old boy in Florida are crediting their German Shepherd with saving their son from being attacked by a neighbor’s dog. A video of a German Shepherd coming to the rescue of its owner’s son has gone viral on TikTok. The post from last week has been viewed over 20 million times and received 4 million likes and over 60-thousand comments.
The video shows a small boy playing with his family’s blond German Shepherd, named Tank, in their front yard. Then you can see a dark dog charging from across the street headed straight for the child. Tank appears to push the boy out of the way and then gets between him and the charging dog, allowing the boy to run away. After the shepherd runs the black dog out of the yard, he turns back around to check on his boy.
“Our neighbor’s dog randomly charged at my son last night & my Tanky saved him from getting mauled or worse,” the boy’s mom wrote in the post. Commenters praised Tank for his heroic actions and many expressed amazement that the dog seemed to know exactly what to do to keep the little boy safe. “That's why Dogs are better than humans, that dog would have protected that child until his last breath,” one commenter wrote.
