A two-year-old GoFundMe created by Damar Hamlin to fund a toy drive has surpassed $7 million since the Buffalo Bills safety collapsed on the football field Monday night.
Hamlin remains hospitalized in critical condition after suffering cardiac arrest. The original goal of the funding drive, aimed at buying toys in Hamlin's hometown of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, was $2,000.
The family updated the page saying “We're simply awestruck by the level of support and generosity we've seen over the past two days. With over $6 million raised, this fundraiser has become an overnight reminder of the incredible nature of humankind. Your actions directly reflect the type of human Damar is himself.”
