Courtney Quinlan, the founder of Midwest Matchmaking, is saying that “Traylor” might be the real deal. In an Instagram video, Quinlan lays out some of the reasons she thinks the couple could go the distance:
Quinlan says that Taylor Swift has dated a “type” before now, which she calls “pretty boys,” and it’s hard to argue that when you look at her list of exes. This is the first time she’s dated a professional athlete, and Quinlan says “Dating someone who is not your typical ‘type’ can make life much more dynamic and interesting.”
They have more in common than you think. Both are at the top of their game in football and music; the Queen of the Swifties just came off the American leg of her tour that broke records and sold out arenas all over the country, and Travis Kelce is projected to be one of the best NFL tight ends of all time. They both are driven to succeed, which gives them a great starting point.
They’re not that similar, though, and Quinlan says that’s important. “They have their own careers that are very different and have their own challenges,” the matchmaker says, adding that having different careers “allows people to think outside of the box” in their lives together.
Quinlan also says that the way Travis “shot his shot” with Tay was equal parts “sexy and vulnerable,” something that Swift would find attractive. He also showed her how much he respects her when he bought out an entire restaurant after his game, showing that “He doesn’t take for granted the fact that she came to the game to cheer him on and let her guard down.”
There are some lessons in Quinlan’s take on “Traylor” that could apply to everyone’s love life, because if they can’t rise to the level of Travis, are they really serious?
