#GoodNews: Bus Driver Saves Hit-And-Run Victim’s Life Using Bus

Eustis, Florida, school bus driver Stacy Hatcher is being hailed a hero for using her bus to shield a hit-and-run victim from oncoming traffic. Late on October 23rd, Hatcher had just finished a field trip with Eustis High School band members when she came across a woman, Abigail Stevens, lying in the middle of the road.

The bus driver initially thought it might be a Halloween prank, but quickly realized it was a real emergency and called 911. She then positioned her school bus so it would prevent oncoming traffic from running over Stevens.

Eustis Police Chief Craig Capri commended Hatcher for her quick thinking, saying she was "at the right place at the right time" and that she "saved the human life that day." The Lake County School District also recognized her as a hero, sharing the story on social media and expressing gratitude for her actions in protecting the hit-and-run victim.
