An Indianapolis eight-year-old is making a big impact in his community by helping the homeless stay warm this winter. Inspired by a school project about his future aspirations, Malik Ford expressed his desire to feed the homeless.
With the support of his family, he founded the nonprofit "Malik's Blankets for the Homeless." Every first Saturday of the month, he sets up in front of the Central Library in downtown Indianapolis, distributing hot meals and blankets to those in need.
Despite being only eight years old and autistic, Malik doesn't let anything deter him from his mission. With help from his mom and godfather David Chaney, he distributed about 100 blankets last year. And he’s determined to do even more to help the homeless this year.
