His joke didn’t go over too well. Timbaland is apologizing for a crude joke he made at Britney Spears’ expense recently.
The rapper and producer made the remark during a live interview at the Kennedy Center on October 29th, saying that Justin Timberlake “should have put a muzzle” on Spears before her memoir “The Woman In Me” spilled the tea about their relationship. Timbaland also referred to the “Toxic” singer as “crazy,” which got a laugh out of the audience.
However, the comments got a lot of pushback from Britney fans and Timbaland finally addressed it. He ended up going live on TikTok as he does most nights, saying, “I apologize to the Britney fans and her,” adding, “Yes, ‘you know about respecting women?’ Hell yeah.”
As you know by now, Spears spilled in her book that JT encouraged his then-girlfriend to get an abortion after getting her pregnant and that Brit and Justin cheated on each other during the relationship. Timberlake then “exploited” Spears’ cheating allegations in his “Cry Me a River” music video, which featured a Spears-esque cheating girlfriend which in Britney’s words, made her look like a “harlot who’d broken the heart of America’s golden boy.”
