When a fire broke out at a Thornton, Colorado, apartment building at 2 am last Wednesday, resident Phil Taylor played a crucial role in making sure everyone made it out safe. After seeing that his balcony was engulfed in flames, Taylor gathered up his family to evacuate.
As they made their way to the exit, they knocked on their neighbors’ doors, alerting them to the fire. With his family safely outside, Taylor stayed behind and continued going door-to-door to make sure every resident was aware of the fire and able to make it out safely
Despite Taylor and his family losing everything in the fire, he was soon back to work at his job at FullSpeed Automotive & Grease Monkey. In recognition of his heroic actions and dedication to helping others, the company gave him $10,000 so he could pay for housing and replace the Christmas gifts they lost in the blaze. A company spokesperson praised Taylor's character and commitment to putting others first, qualities they say he displays every day while on the job.
