The new year will bring a chance to reunite with some old pals… from the Korean War. But not really. The surviving cast of the legendary hit TV show “MASH” is set for a reunion 40 years after it went off the air with the episode “Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen.”

Alan Alda, who led the series for 11 seasons as “Hawkeye” Pierce, will join Gary Burghoff, Jamie Farr, Mike Farrell, and Loretta Swit in the Fox special set for January 1st. The two-hour event promises to be a “definitive” look at the show’s run, with “never before seen behind-the-scenes footage, photos and stories.” Executive producers Gene Reynolds and Burt Metcalfe will also be on hand for the look back.

The series finale remains the most-watched of any show and the most-watched episode of a scripted series.
