For fans of the “Today” show, this past weekend brought a reunion some probably thought would never happen. Sure, the New York City wedding of show producer Jennifer Long was private, but former co-hosts Savannah Guthrie and Matt Lauer were confirmed to both be on the guest lists… placing them at the same public appearance for the first time in six years.
Lauer was fired from his role on “Today” after claims by a former employee who was eventually identified as Brooke Nevils that he sexually assaulted her. The anchor denied both her allegations and those of several other women who came forward against him, and Lauer was let go by NBC in 2017.
The dismissed former personality arrived with his girlfriend Shamin Abas, while Guthrie arrived with his husband Michael Feldman. There’s been no word as of yet if the reunited co-hosts took time to get together during the event.
