NASCAR driver Chase Briscoe, originally from Mitchell, Indiana, made a significant impact on his community by giving away 700 new Huffy bikes to every elementary school child in the Mitchell School District. The generous act was made possible by a partnership between Briscoe's team, Stewart-Haas Racing, and their partner Huffy.
The event was a community effort, with students from the junior and senior high schools assisting in passing out the bikes. Local businesses also contributed by sending employees to help assemble the bikes. Dr. Brent Comer, the superintendent of the school district, praised the initiative, saying it might be the nicest gift many of the students will get for Christmas, and pointing out that the bikes will encourage the kids to go outside and get active.
Briscoe expressed the deep connection he feels for his hometown and the pride he feels in being able to give back to the community that has supported him throughout his racing career. He shared fond childhood memories of biking in Mitchell and says he hopes to inspire similar experiences with this donation. Parents and grandparents expressed their gratitude and excitement, noting the special meaning these bikes held as Christmas gifts for their children.
