Sometimes when you go all out with your Christmas display, it gets misunderstood.
Residents of a Texas town did that with one family’s display. The townsfolk are discovering that what they thought were aliens is actually a high-tech Christmas light show.
Chris Hartgraves is over the top with Christmas decorations at his home in Georgetown, about 30 miles north of Austin. Hartgraves says he saves up his vacation time to decorate his house with about 13,000 lights to show his love for the Christmas holiday.
It includes lights pointing to the sky, which reflect oddly against clouds.
He puts on a different show each week leading up to Christmas and starts planning the following year's show the day after Christmas.
Hartgraves is modest when he talks about his Christmas lights talents, saying he's neither smart nor creative -- "just a Christmas nerd."
