Last week, widow and single mother Courtney Russel was meeting up with relatives in the parking lot of the Sam’s Club in Timonium, Maryland.
Her uncle agreed to babysit her son, so she was moving him into his vehicle when a thief ran up and stole her car. Russel’s brother-in-law quickly called the authorities and a friend was able to track her phone, which she’d left in the vehicle.
Police soon found her phone discarded beside a highway, but not her car. However, Russel was able to pinpoint the location of her car by tracking an Apple AirTag attached to her keys. With help from the police, Russel found her car in Baltimore City.
Although Russel successfully recovered her car thanks to the AirTag, she never found her keys. She had to have the vehicle towed and replace keys for the car as well as her home and mailbox. She’s grateful for the police assistance and the AirTag, which she’s now recommending for other single moms to consider for their security.
