California City Fines Restaurant For Revealing Server Uniforms

The city of Downey, California is fining a restaurant more than $4000, claiming its servers are wearing uniforms that are too revealing.

A spokesperson for Ojos Locos says the restaurant will file an appeal and hopes to be reimbursed for the fine.

Waitresses wear cut off T-shirts and short skirts.

The city says that's a violation of its dress code for people handling food. The city’s dress code says that food handlers are not allowed to bare their midriffs, any portion of the chest 3 inches below their collar bone, and any part of the leg 3 inches below the butt.
