Shaun Donnelly and his dog Sandy had been facing some tough living conditions on the streets of Los Angeles, especially after losing their tent in a recent storm. He says they were “miserable and cold,” but that all changed when they met Thomas Greenberg, a good Samaritan who was moved to help them find shelter.
An entertainment attorney, Greenberg took an interest in Donnelly after learning his story. Donnelly was a former truck driver who never expected to be homeless. To give him a warm and safe place to live, Greenberg bought an RV that used to be a production vehicle. Donnelly was extremely grateful, saying that receiving the gift felt like a dream.
To further help Donnelly get back on his feet and pay for the maintenance on the RV, Greenberg started a crowdfund page, which quickly raised thousands of dollars from more than a hundred donors. Greenberg's ultimate goal is to help Donnelly and Sandy find permanent housing and the resources to re-enter the workforce and become self-sufficient. He hopes that his act of kindness will start Donnelly reclaiming his life.
