With recent snow storms leaving Mentor, Ohio, covered in a thick blanket of snow, homeowners like Don Wheeler have their work cut out for them, shoveling their walkways and drives just to be able to get in and out of their homes. But the task can be particularly challenging for Wheeler, who‘s been confined to a wheelchair for two decades. It can sometimes take him hours or even days to clear his drive, and because he’s on a fixed income, hiring someone to do it is off the table.

So last week, when he was waiting for an Amazon delivery and looked out to see the driver was shoveling snow off the ramp to his home, he was beyond grateful. “I started hearing noises of somebody shoveling. I was like, is somebody shoveling my ramp?” he recalls, “I looked out the window and it was the Amazon driver.”

Wheeler went outside to thank the Amazon driver, but the man just smiled at him and continued shoveling. The good Samaritan left before Wheeler could get his name, but he wanted him to know how much the simple act of kindness meant to him. Later, Wheeler learned from his neighbors that the unnamed Amazon driver shoveled several other homes in the neighborhood.
