The age old ritual of asking your kids “how was school?” has been answered the same way for decades. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a “fine” answer instead of a shrug.

Mom Katya Hosler of Phoenix, Arizona has figured out a way to get actual details by using a game and she’s sharing it.

Hosler posted a video of her son playing the game on socials. The whole thing started with her son.

Hosler took to socials to explain "When Keegan was born, I read a bunch of parenting books about how important it is to talk to children about their feelings with open-ended questions or by starting a sentence and letting them finish it.” Here’s how this clever mom gets info. The game includes questions like "My teacher treats me ....", "More than anything at school, I love ...", "I'm sad when my friends ...", "I am happy when my classmates ...", "At school I'd like to ..." .

Give this genius game a try.
