In the early hours of a Monday morning, Chicago city bus driver Anastasios Adamopoulos and an unnamed passenger heroically saved around 14 people from a fire at a pair of homes in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood.
They alerted the residents to the fire, leading to a successful evacuation of all residents, and then Adamopoulos gave them refuge on his bus until firefighters contained the fire.
The humble bus driver downplayed his heroic actions, saying that he just did what he felt anyone else would do in that situation.
