The world's largest cruise ship, Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas, successfully rescued 14 individuals stranded at sea for eight days after passengers spotted the distressed vessel.

It took about two hours to safely transfer all 14 people aboard the cruise ship, where Royal Caribbean staff provided medical care to them and coordinated with the U.S. Coast Guard.

The rescued individuals disembarked the next day when the Icon of the Seas made a stop in Roatan, Honduras.
