The New Orleans Police Department is dealing with many problems in its facilities, from mold to deteriorating elevators to HVAC units and plumbing problems at its headquarters. Oh, and weed rats.

The rats are eating our marijuana,” NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick told the City Council’s Criminal Justice Committee yesterday, adding, “They’re all high.” Kirkpatrick is lobbying to relocate NOPD HQ to a downtown high-rise to escape what she says is a facility where “The uncleanliness is off the charts.”

One would assume the cravings for cheese in the building are also off the charts…at least for the high rats.
