McDonald's in the Netherlands has introduced an innovative new advertising strategy that they claim are the world's first scented billboards.

The unique billboards, located in Utrecht and Leiden, don’t have any logos on them but emit the familiar aroma of McDonald's fries when pedestrians come within approximately 15 feet.

The billboards use state-of-the-art technology to diffuse the scent of the beloved fries and aim to evoke emotions and memories associated with the iconic brand.

The scented signs are positioned within 600 yards of a McDonald's restaurant, to lead customers straight to their locations, leveraging the powerful impact of scent on memory and emotions.
