Restaurant Posts Photos Of Woman's Debit Card Online After She Forgets It

A North Carolina woman went to a local restaurant and it cost her over $2000.

Rhonda Deaver is a regular at Smith's Cafe in Kinston and last week after she paid for her meal, she left her debit card.

While on her way back to retrieve it, an employee at the eatery decided to help find the woman… by posting pictures of the front AND back of her card on Facebook.

When the post was taken down, the damage had already been done.

Deaver contacted her bank and several purchases had been declined, but $2000 went through.

The woman is stunned. "I couldn't believe that they did that, but I might be responsible for all those charges." Deaver adds "It had been used a whole lot. [There were] a whole lot of declines but a whole lot that went through. I live on a fixed income, and there's not extra money every month to cover those bills."

The restaurant isn’t commenting.
