#GoodNews: Canadian Farmer With Huge Surplus Donates Millions Of Potatoes

When he found himself with a 100-thousand-bag surplus of potatoes, Manitoba farmer Isaiah Hofer needed to find a way to deal with it.

Instead of letting millions of pounds of nutritious food be wasted, he partnered with The Farmlink Project, a nonprofit that connects farmers with excess produce to communities facing food insecurity.

This collaboration resulted in 115 trucks transporting the surplus potatoes to food banks across North America.

The initiative turned a potential agricultural waste into a vital resource for families in need.
