Philadelphia Phillies player Bryce Harper recently assisted a New Jersey high school student, Jake Portello, with a promposal. The senior at Haddonfield Memorial High School just knocked on Harper's door and asked for his help. Harper agreed and suggested they do it right then.
A now-viral video of the moment shows the pair at the house of Jake's prom date, Giulia. Harper leads the promposal, asking her if she would attend prom with Jake. She enthusiastically accepted, hugging both Harper and Jake.
The teen says he was surprised by the experience and that he wasn’t even sure that Harper would be home, much less that he would agree to help. "I wasn't expecting this, I thought it'd be something cool among my friends and people in my town and stuff," Jake says, "I didn't even expect him to open the door in the first place." Jake and Giulia will be attending Haddonfield’s senior prom on June 14th.
