Good Samaritan Saves Baby’s Life Outside Wrigley Field

The Chicago Fire Department recently honored CPR instructor Justin Mis for his part in helping to save the life of an infant suffering cardiac arrest outside Wrigley Field. The incident occurred last month as a family was leaving a Cubs game. Mis, a trauma coordinator at Cook County Hospital and a CPR instructor at Lurie Children’s Hospital, performed CPR on the baby until paramedics arrived.

Along with EMTs from Chicago Fire Ambulance Six, he received the Community Hero Award from Project Adam, a nonprofit that educates people on preventing sudden cardiac arrest. The family expressed gratitude to Mis and the first responders for their life-saving actions. The baby has since made a full recovery.
