Poor body image can start as young as three for many girls.
That's according to a new study from California State University. It found a serious difference in how preschool-aged girls value their appearance compared to boys.
The study concluded that "Girls said that to be a girl they needed to be pretty, and looking pretty was important." It adds emphasizing beauty ideals from a young age can lead to "missing an important piece of the puzzle" in addressing body image issues.
