Police Handing Out Slurpee Tickets To Kids For Good Deeds

Police officers in Takoma Park, Maryland, are rewarding children with Slurpee tickets for good behavior, aiming to build positive relationships between local youth and police.

This initiative called “Operation Chill” is supported by local 7-Eleven stores, and focuses on recognizing good acts like helping others and practicing safety.

Around since the 90s, the program was recently reintroduced due to a rise in juvenile crime, and local authorities hope the program will encourage better behavior among kids.
