Earlier this year, Cyndi Eskins had her late husband’s cherished Harley Davidson Shovelhead motorcycle stolen from the garage at her Lafayette, Oregon, home. A man she knew picked the lock and took the bike, leaving her feeling devastated and believing that she’d let her husband down by losing the motorcycle he loved so much.
Eskins turned to Guardians Theft Recovery, a group led by Nick Haas that helps people find their stolen vehicles at no charge. A motorcycle enthusiast himself, Haas empathized deeply with Eskins' loss and worked diligently with local sheriffs in Yamhill and Clackamas counties. After three months, they obtained a warrant for the suspect's arrest and successfully recovered the motorcycle in nearby McMinnville.
This was the 3-thousandth vehicle returned to its rightful owner with the help of Guardians Theft Recovery in just three years. Eskins expressed immense gratitude, saying that being reunited with the Harley that was so special to her husband was one of the best moments of her life. While some of her possessions are still missing, she’s relieved to have the sentimental motorcycle back and is thankful for the group's help in restoring her faith in humanity.
