Former tech executive Peter Moore of Montecito, California, was recently on his way to the airport when he started to feel lightheaded and received a low heart rate notification from his Apple Watch.

He says the device was “insistent” that there was a problem, so he contacted his wife, who took him to the hospital, where doctors determined he urgently needed a pacemaker implanted.

After the procedure, the doctor told him that his Apple watch played a “big role in saving his life.”

Moore says he’s feeling great now and is crediting his Apple Watch with the positive outcome, adding that wearable tech is an invaluable tool for “informing you about your health in real-time.”
