The Olympic flag is in Los Angeles, where it will live through the end of the 2028 Summer Games.
L.A. Mayor Karen Bass and a contingent of Olympic athletes from Southern California returned to LAX with the flag yesterday afternoon.
Also on the plane were members of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee, executives from LA28, and elected officials.
Bass received the flag from Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo during Sunday night's closing ceremony.
It was the first time in Olympic history the flag had been passed between two female mayors.
