Earlier this year, during an intense storm in Tomball, Texas, Bryan Pederson was waiting at a traffic light on his way home when his SUV was crushed by a falling oak tree. Multiple cars passed by without stopping until single mom Veronica Marin, who was with her three children, sprang into action to rescue Pederson. With the help of another good Samaritan, she managed to pry the door open and free Pederson from the wreckage, saving his life.
After the incident, he learned that Marin, the woman who’d selflessly helped him, is a single mother struggling with chronic back pain and experiencing financial difficulties. Her home was also in desperate need of repairs. He was so touched by her bravery and kindness, that he decided to start a crowdfund campaign to help Marin with her home repairs and other expenses. The campaign quickly went viral, raising over $45-thousand from more than 800 supporters.
Pederson expressed deep gratitude for Marin, describing her as an "amazing human being" and a hero who acted selflessly without expecting anything in return. He feels blessed to be part of her story and is committed to helping improve her life as a way of repaying her for the life-saving actions she took that day.
