Shelby, Iowa Is Dealing With Bright Pink Water

Shelby, Iowa has a water problem. When you turn on the tap, out flows the water but it’s bright pink.

And it tastes horrible. One resident says “The water tastes like iron. Like you are drinking straight pennies. That’s what it tastes like.”

Authorities say the problem started Saturday when two of their four water pumps didn’t re-engage.

Potassium permanganate is making the water pink.

This is only one of many times residents had to deal with discolored or odd-tasting water and many are speaking out about it.

The H20 is deemed safe to drink.
