After a difficult year, a 12-year-old Swiftie is getting the night out she deserves. Kelsey Farris, a patient at Children’s Hospital New Orleans, was surprised by staffers who gave her tickets to Taylor Swift’s upcoming concert.
Right after she was born, Kelsey was diagnosed with a severe form of sickle cell disease. She’s been hospitalized more than 20 times in her young life and last year she had an allogeneic stem cell transplant, and then a bone marrow transplant. She’s lived with chronic pain in the past, but after her transplant, her blood work shows no signs of sickle cell disease.
"Known for her bright smile and witty dad jokes, Kelsey's positivity lights up the clinic each day, and her artistic talents bring creativity to every visit," the hospital shares. "For Kelsey, receiving these tickets is a well-deserved moment of joy.” She’ll be seeing her favorite singer on the final leg of “The Eras Tour” at the Caesars Superdome on October 26th.
