A golden retriever service dog named Winnie has become a beloved part of the University of Northern Iowa's marching band, accompanying her owner, Gabi Riessen, during performances.
Riessen, who has a chronic heart condition, relies on Winnie to detect early signs of fainting and help her avoid injury.
Despite initial concerns about how Winnie would adapt, she has seamlessly integrated into the band's color guard, although she has to wear noise-canceling headphones during performances.
Winnie enjoys the attention she gets from the crowd and helps Riessen to be able to fully participate in the college experience.
