Man Drives Up Burning Mountain To Save Woman & Her 4 Dogs From Wildfire

Last week, as the Pacific Palisades burned from the most destructive wildfire ever recorded in Southern California, L.A.-based producer Caleb Serban-Lawler braved the dangerous conditions to help his neighbors protect their homes. As he headed out of the area around dusk, he encountered a desperate woman looking for help. Her car had broken down, leaving her and her four dogs stranded. Driven by a sense of duty, he agreed to help her.

Navigating thick smoke, flying embers, and flames, Serban-Lawler drove up the mountain to the woman’s home. Video of the incidents show them driving through blinding smoke and alongside burning roads to the woman’s garage. As the fires intensified, they loaded the pets into the truck and fled downhill, past the devastating scenes of destruction, including burning trees, cars, and homes.

Fortunately, everybody involved made it out safely. Serban-Lawler is downplaying his part in the rescue, saying he was just doing the right thing, but the woman expressed profound gratitude, calling him a hero. She later shared her story on social media, stressing how hopeless her situation was and thanking Serban-Lawler for saving her and her pets.
