Cop Saves Boy After Fall Through Ice On Frozen Lake

On Monday afternoon, a West Long Branch, New Jersey, police officer rescued an 11-year-old boy who fell through the ice on a frozen lake.

The child had walked 75 yards across Franklin Lake before the ice gave way, plunging him into four feet of near-freezing water.

Officer Dave Brosonski arrived quickly, breaking through the ice with his knees as he made his way to the child, who was panicked and struggling in the cold.

The boy was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, while officials are considering adding warning signs around the lake following the incident.
