A child with autism who went missing during a snowstorm in New Hampshire on Tuesday was found just in time thanks to a police K9.

The runaway juvenile called police around 7 p.m., saying he was freezing with only 1% phone battery left.

The line then went dead, prompting an immediate search. Danville Police Department Officer Padraig "Paddy" Capsalis and his partner K9 Crue were deployed to locate the boy. K9 Crue, named after the 80s rock band Mötley Crüe, picked up a scent right away and led Capsalis and two Rockingham County Sheriff’s Deputies more than a mile and a half through deep snow along power-line trails until they found the child huddled under some trees.

He was taken to the hospital for evaluation, and officials say the dog’s quick tracking likely saved his life.
