Alicia Silverstone is anything but “Clueless” when it comes to rescuing dogs.

The actress saw that a three-year-old pregnant terrier mix was going to be euthanized because a San Bernardino, Calif., animal control facility was overcrowded, so she jumped into action.

Silverstone called Helen Woodward Animal Center in San Diego, and they picked up Noel the day she was to be euthanized… and moments after the mama dog had a bunch of pups.

Silverstone is now fostering four of the puppies until they are ready for adoption this month.

The actress says, “If people spay and neuter, stop going to breeders, stop going to pet stores, and just rescue. You can have the cutest little faces from a rescue; you don’t need to spend the crazy money at the breeder or the pet store.”
