Wow—is it me or do bad things happen whenever one of the Giants goes too Florida?
And while I am poking fun at how poorly the Giants did the week following Odell Beckham Jr.'s famous boat trip with the Beeb’s in Florida when they lost the following weekend to the Packers in the playoffs, what has happened since Giants cornerback Janoris Jenkinsleft for Florida—after the teams minicamp ended—is no laughing matter.
That’s because yesterday a dead body was in his Fair Lawn, New Jersey home.
And that body would be 25-year-old Roosevelt Rene—a family friend who had been living at the house—according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.
The prosecutor's office said, "The manner of death will be determined by the Bergen County Medical Examiner's Office after a post-mortem exam."
But, as of now, sources say police are treating it as a homicide and are reportedly looking into strangulation or suffocation as the cause of death.
I’m guessing Jenkins is in the clear considering he has been in Florida since the completion of Giants minicamp two weeks ago, but the odd thing is, his lawyers have informed him to stay there.
Guess they think even the heat he’ll face in Florida isn’t nearly as bad as what’s waiting for him back home.
